We’ve all been there… we are having a party and need to come up with a menu. Do I cater it? Do I make it all myself? Just getting the house ready is a lot of work. So, I usually do a combination of both. Here are some great go-to appetizer type things I put out for my parties that are usually a hit.
So easy to do – and feels therapeutic making them, all you need is cherry tomatoes, small mozzarella balls and (optional) fresh basil – one of each on a toothpick. Sprinkle some balsamic vinegarette on top and there you go! Bite sized and easy to make.
Yeah, so I guess this one falls into the whole “charcuterie board” craze arena, but since I’ve been doing it since I owned my first house, it’s on here – it’s a staple. I do a modified version of it – instead of a gluttonous array of food sprawled out out on a table that no one eats, I opt for an organized cheese and crackers tray.
This fruit salad, which I usually make with watermelon, cantaloupe and blueberries, is great because if kids are there, its a hit with them, too.
In case there aren’t enough human nuts at the party (ha), I find nut tray varieties such as pistachios and cashews to always be a hit. It can get sort of gross if everyone has their hands in it, but let’s hope they washed them.
That’s my round-up for my 4 go-to app’s on an on-going basis. For different holidays or events, I’ll switch it up or add to it for more holiday themed apps – check those out here too…
